Help for beta testers

DISCTALE is still a beta. A recognised record may not have playable audio, and an uncertain edition may need your confirmation. That is expected behaviour, not a reason for the app to guess.

Send useful feedback

Include the iPhone model, iOS version, DISCTALE build, what kind of evidence you used (barcode, centre label, or cover), and what you expected. Never send passwords, access tokens, or private camera images.

Where is DJ Bag?

DJ Bag is available in the 0.7.10 public beta. Update DISCTALE through TestFlight to choose records, browse sleeves and organise your crates.

More ways to find the music

Open the manual menu for CODE, LABEL, TYPE IT or LISTEN. On a record, Try alternate and Try harder offer additional listening searches when available. You can keep using these tools without a DISCTALE account.

Control YouTube autoplay

Autoplay YouTube starts off. Enable it in Settings to start each visible YouTube player as it opens, or leave it off to start playback with a tap.

The camera is unavailable

Open iOS Settings, find DISCTALE, and allow Camera access. Return to the app and make sure another app is not actively using the camera.

The record is not recognised

Try the barcode first, then the centre label, then the full sleeve. Fill the guide, avoid glare, and keep all four sleeve corners in frame. DISCTALE can return no safe match rather than guess.

The record is recognised but silent

Recognition and audio are separate. Open the release to keep the tracklist, retry a temporary lookup, or choose another listening route when the app offers one.

Several editions appear

Choose only when the country, year, label, format, or catalogue number matches the copy in your hands. If none match, leave the picker instead of selecting a convenient answer.

Offline use

A record already known to the phone may still be recognised without a connection. Playback and fresh catalogue lookups need a network connection.

Manage or delete beta data

Remove finds, kept records, saved sessions, saved places, and diagnostics from their in-app surfaces where available. For an account or backend request, use the support contact and state exactly what should be removed.
